MTT Sports Review
Standalone Web3 platform (own MTT token on Ethereum) · 0 ambassadors · Last updated April 2026
The Web3 poker room built around token airdrops, Bitcoin prizes, and zero house edge on entry
MTT Sports launched in 2024 as a blockchain-native tournament poker platform - no cash tables, no traditional rake model, just free-entry freerolls feeding into a weekly 1 Bitcoin prize pool. It runs on its own MTT Network (Cosmos-based EVM-compatible chain), distributes MTTD governance tokens to active players, and has signed up over 460,000 accounts in its first year. Here is what that actually means for a poker player.

02 What MTT Sports actually is - and what it is not
MTT Sports launched in April 2024 as a Web3-native poker platform - one of the few rooms in the industry that describes itself as decentralized esports rather than a traditional poker operator. The platform runs on its own MTT Network, a Cosmos-based EVM-compatible blockchain, and the primary in-game currency is the native MTT token (ERC-20, total supply capped at 2.1 billion). By January 2025, the platform reported over 460,000 registered accounts, with peak concurrent traffic reaching around 4,000 players - a credible early number for a sub-12-month-old product.
The positioning is specific: MTT Sports targets players who are either priced out of traditional buy-in poker (via free-entry freerolls), crypto-native players who want multi-chain wallet integration, or early-adopter poker enthusiasts drawn by the MTTD governance token and revenue-sharing model. That is a narrower target than GGPoker or PokerStars, but a real and growing one. The platform has attracted a global audience spanning Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America, with peak activity running 13:00 to 22:00 UTC.
The room is licensed by the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros - a lightweight offshore jurisdiction that is common among crypto-poker operators and broadly accepted for the markets MTT Sports targets. It is not an Isle of Man or Malta licence, which matters if you are in a strictly regulated market, but for crypto-native players it is the standard baseline.
03 Software and UX - what to expect
The client is fully browser-based - no download required, which genuinely lowers the barrier for casual players. The interface loads on iOS and Android without a dedicated native app, adapting to screen size via responsive design. Functionality is solid if not polished: tournament registration, wallet access, live event browsing, and table spectating all work without friction. Multi-tabling is capped at four tables. Vertical layout on mobile makes single-tabling comfortable; four-tabling is tight but usable.
MTT Sports has quietly built a more feature-rich software stack than its tournament-only positioning suggests. Built-in GTO strategy tools, AI hand analysis, in-game social interaction, private friend tables, and a hand replay function are all available inside the client - features that several larger traditional rooms still do not offer natively. The Player Ladder System provides real-time ranking visibility across the entire platform, adding a competitive leaderboard layer that many recreational players find motivating.
Security infrastructure is stronger than you might expect from a 2024 launch: biometric access keys, authenticator-based one-time codes, mobile number verification, facial recognition at key checkpoints (live verification required before using the Bridge for cross-chain transfers), and GLI-certified RNG shuffling (ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17065 compliant). Login options include Google, Apple, X, Line, and MetaMask. The weak point is support - the help center is limited and partially gated behind the login wall, with community support primarily via Telegram and Discord rather than live chat.

04 Tournaments, rake, and the free-entry model
The tournament lobby runs around the clock. Mining freerolls start every 30 minutes and are the entry point for new players: no buy-in, no deposit, just register and play. Winning chips in Mining tournaments gives you MTT tokens, which are the buy-in currency for higher-stakes events. Daily tournaments carry buy-ins of 1 MTT and guarantees of 5,000 to 20,000 MTT. Amateur events run every 20 minutes with 3 to 5 MTT buy-ins and 500 to 1,000 MTT guarantees, capped at 250 players. Regular events (the 'local high-rollers') run 20 to 220 MTT buy-ins with guarantees from 2,000 to 50,000 MTT.
The flagship is the Weekly Tournament - a three-day event running Saturday through Monday with a 1 Bitcoin guaranteed prize pool (~$100,000+ at current prices). Day 1 runs four starting flights between 12:00 and 21:00 CET on Saturday; Day 2 narrows the field on Sunday; the Final Day runs Monday at 16:00 CET. The winner receives 0.35 BTC. Forty-eight places are paid. Every registered and verified player can enter via the free satellite chain - you never need to deposit to take a shot at Bitcoin. This is the structural hook that makes MTT Sports meaningfully different from traditional poker rooms.
For buy-in events, rake exists but the platform does not publish a standard rake table in the way traditional rooms do. Rakeback is paid in MTT tokens based on volume, and token-holders receive reduced rake on paid events. The more important reward mechanism for most players is the MTTD airdrop system, described below.

05 MTTD airdrops and the governance token - the honest picture
The MTTD token is MTT Sports' governance token - a separate asset from the MTT utility token used for buy-ins. Total MTTD supply is fixed at 21,000,000, of which 33% (roughly 6.93 million tokens) is allocated to player airdrops. Players earn airdrop points by participating in tournaments and casual table events; the system calculates points daily based on activity, game results, and winnings. At the end of each distribution period, players receive MTTD proportional to their share of total server points. Phase 3 of the airdrop, announced January 2026, has 1.05 million MTTD up for grabs.
Holding MTTD carries two stated benefits: a share of platform transaction fee revenue (revenue sharing), and voting rights on platform governance decisions including future token listings and product updates. On the internal market, MTTD has appreciated significantly - from 60 MTT per MTTD to 500 MTT per MTTD over two months prior to December 2025, before any exchange listing. That price action reflects early-adopter demand rather than liquid market pricing, and players should treat it as speculative. The token has not yet listed on a major external exchange as of April 2026.
The referral program ('Invite Poker Masters') runs until December 2028 and pays three tiers of rebates in MTT tokens: 5% from direct referrals (Tier 1), 1% from Tier 2, and 1% from Tier 3. Payouts are instant after each qualifying tournament or in-game purchase by the referred player. For players with a social media audience or poker community network, this is a meaningful passive income layer. For solo grinders with no network, it is largely irrelevant.
