Xuan Liu, one of Canada's most decorated poker professionals, has signed with Ignition Casino as the platform's new brand ambassador. The deal, announced on April 10, marks a shift for Liu, who recently departed her previous role with WPT Global.
The Toronto-based pro and University of Waterloo alumna has earned over $3.3 million in live tournament winnings, currently ranking 34th on the Canada All-Time Money List. Her most significant result came in 2025, when she became the first woman to win a Triton Poker title, taking down the $25,000 WPT Global Slam in Montenegro for a career-high $860,000.
I've always been proud of my roots in the Canadian poker scene. Joining forces with Ignition allows me to give back to the community that supported me from the very beginning, through content that is both transparent and helpful for players at any level.

Liu's role at Ignition will focus specifically on the Canadian poker community. She plans to produce behind-the-scenes vlogs from her tournament travels - what she calls a 'Northern perspective' on the global circuit - alongside exclusive password-protected freerolls branded as 'The Liu Look' for her followers.
The signing is a notable move in the ambassador landscape. Ignition, known for its anonymous tables and Zone Poker format, has historically operated with a lower profile than competitors like GGPoker or PokerStars. Bringing on a player of Liu's caliber signals the platform's intent to grow its Canadian presence.
Liu has also committed to strategy sessions and mental game advice aimed at players transitioning from casual home games to serious online play - a niche that aligns with Ignition's positioning as an accessible platform for recreational and semi-professional players.
For WPT Global, this represents the loss of one of their most prominent female ambassadors. Liu's departure follows a pattern of roster movement in early 2026, with several high-profile players switching rooms as platforms compete for brand representation heading into the summer tournament season.
