About
Joseph Hachem was born in Lebanon on 11 March 1966 and moved to Melbourne, Australia, in 1972 at age six. He worked as a chiropractor for 13 years before a rare blood disorder led him to play poker more frequently around 1995 while running a brokerage business. He won the 2005 WSOP Main Event for $7.5 million, the first Australian to do so, and the 2006 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic for over $2 million. As of 2024, his live tournament earnings exceed $12.9 million.
